Pirate with Attitude

The idea for this fantasy portrait came from the model, who had always wanted to dress up as a pirate, and a menacing one at that. While the axe is real, the sword and other weapons were plastic Halloween accessories. Blind luck steered me toward the lush garments, most of which were discovered by my assistant at consignment and thrift stores.
